⚙️ Life, Business & Efficiency with a Newborn
Hey there, I'm Kimberly Spencer, CEO of the Communication Queens Agency, where we help you leverage podcast guesting as a form of lead generation for your business. And one of the biggest questions that I'm regularly asked is like, how do we produce so much content between my own personal brand as Kimberly Spencer?
Not that I'd be known as anybody else except for like, my maiden name, but my personal brand, our coaching brand—Crown Yourself—and the Communication Queens Agency. And now with us launching a book as well, we're managing multiple brands.
And yet somehow I still have time to live life, take a shower, raise my three children, homeschool and run two businesses, and successfully delight and please clients. How do I do it?
So this one simple rule breaks down how I think about content—how I think about pretty much anything in business these days—because the beauty of having a newborn is: they help you simplify everything.
Like suddenly when you add extra into your plate, your capacity for efficiency actually expands.
💡 A Lesson from My Entrepreneur Dad
One of my favorite sayings. It was a big lesson that my dad taught me, and my dad was an entrepreneur for 30 years. He built a successful tree business with my mom in LA. Despite him being a high-functioning alcoholic and addict, his specialty was in customer relations and in people. He was really skilled with people and building teams and being the forefront of the business with connecting with customers.
📌 The 3:1 Content Principle Explained
The principle of 3 to 1. And it's basically looking at everything you do in your business, everything you do as a 3 to 1 ratio. So you do one thing. And how can you leverage that in multiple different ways?
So for example, in my coaching business, when I'm coaching a client, if I hear a specific topic come up that I've heard a few times that week with multiple clients, I will take that and take what I say—obviously, keeping my client's information private and confidential—I will take those nuggets of wisdom and turn those into pieces of content for my audience. For the Crown Yourself audience.
The same is true with Communication Queen. If we're noticing certain trends coming up—like right now, we are enrolling a lot of authors into our consulting programs to help them build out and prep for their book launches—I’m noticing these trends, so I'm going to speak to those.
And when you start looking at things like that, somehow podcasting, podcast guesting, content production becomes ten times easier because you're not trying to sit down and think of content and just create one piece that's only going to go one place.
You can turn that piece of content into a sales letter, into a sales email, into a podcast. You can turn it into a call to action for a prospect that you are calling in. There are so many different ways that you can leverage what you're doing.
