What is the biggest mistake that people make when they first see Pinterest?

Tarin LaRoux 00:02:26  So I want to preface this too with the Pinterest conversion queen, because there's a big difference with using Pinterest to just grow an audience versus making money from it.

Tarin LaRoux 00:02:40  So that actually leads me to one of the biggest mistakes that people are making on Pinterest. And that's like not thinking about how it leads into their funnels and just thinking that they can use it to drive traffic anywhere, which is kind of true. We'll get into that, I'm sure.

Kimberly Spencer 00:02:57  So where do you want to direct it if you're a podcaster or a podcast guest? That is of the most monetized effects. Yeah.

Tarin LaRoux 00:03:07  So first and foremost, you want to have your own website to be driving traffic back to from Pinterest. You can definitely be using guesting and using those links to drive attention and awareness back to those. And as you know, if you're guesting, you probably are getting them to take that next step with you. But the magic really happens when you have your podcast episodes showcased on your own website, where you've got kind of like a SEO friendly version of it that breaks down what's inside the episode, maybe even has a link to the transcript. And then people who are finding you from Pinterest, since they're so used to finding blog posts, if they come to your podcast episode and you've got like, here's three things you don't learn in this episode.

Tarin LaRoux 00:03:55  And here's a quick overview. Or if you use AI to take your transcript and flip it into a blog post for you, then you're going to get people, no matter what their learning style is, and then they're going to be able to stick around on your website and really get to know you and binge everything that you've got and become instant fan girls.

Kimberly Spencer 00:04:16  I love this, I love this because one of the things that we recommend, especially because we were predominantly with Podcast Guest, is that they have a guesting page on their website, so you don't even have to use your own podcast episodes. You can use the ones that you guest on, create a separate page or multiple pages, blog style like you said, Taryn, and highlight like what you loved about this episode. What makes it different than the other podcast episodes, but definitely the bare minimum. Having a page that has the podcast that you've guest it on so that a it creates social proof to get you on your podcast, but be it also is that a page that you could drive traffic to?

Tarin LaRoux 00:04:58  Yeah, I call them like entry points because you can target people no matter where they're at in their journey.

Tarin LaRoux 00:05:05  And obviously you're not going to say the same exact thing on podcast interviews, but reaching different audiences, using different keywords, which is what everything runs on, on Pinterest, because it is first and foremost a search engine. you have to have those keywords down. And so if you're able to pluck the main theme of what your podcast interview or your podcast episode is about, then you're going to be able to get people in from different places. And then again, they're just going to be able to binge everything that you have available because you're making it so easy for them.

Kimberly Spencer 00:05:41  Are there some industries that thrive better on Pinterest than others? Well, yeah. Yeah.

Tarin LaRoux 00:05:47  Oh, Pinterest often is like thought of just for bloggers and, you know, mommy bloggers recipes. and people think of Pinterest when they're planning their wedding or other special holidays and events. But there are like 5 billion searches happening on Pinterest every single month. And they are not all for recipes. They're not all for wedding dresses and style. People go there to plan all sorts of things.

Tarin LaRoux 00:06:15  and so if you have an online business, chances are people are searching for what you have to offer. And if you have a local business and you can't serve nationwide, then Pinterest might not be the best spot for you.

Kimberly Spencer 00:06:32  Yeah, I think with Pinterest and my own dabbling with it, what I've loved is that you said it perfectly because of the country's conversion Queen, that it's a search engine. It's not up there with Instagram. It's not Facebook, it's not all the other search ones. So since Pinterest fares better with blogs. What are some really great high conversion rate tactics that you use with your clients that you see driving a top of the funnel revenue, like getting them into the first part of the funnel.

Tarin LaRoux 00:07:05  So definitely bringing people back to your blog is one of the easiest ways to get people into your world without being kind of like pressure. You're setting yourself up as an authority, somebody who knows their shit. I don't know if I'm allowed to say that. And so when they get to your blog and they're reading through it and they're like, oh yeah, this is exactly what I was looking for, because that's what they're doing.

Tarin LaRoux 00:07:29  They're going to Pinterest. They're saying, how do I do this thing? They're looking for things that they might not be willing to ask on social media. And tons and tons of people use Pinterest as their Google. So when they go, they're looking for solutions and they stumble across your blog posts. They're going to see that you know your stuff. They're going to find that you have the next step solution, usually in the form of a lead magnet, some sort of content upgrade that relates to what they just read. And then that gets them into your funnel and you're able to give them an upsell right after they get your freebie, you're able to nurture them in the emails and say, hey, you like this? I have more for you. And there's this flip side to where you can actually use Pinterest to drive traffic directly back to your sales pages for things that aren't free because people are problem aware their solution seeking, they are like, I have this problem, how do I fix it? And when they land on your landing page that you spend so much time creating for this perfect ideal client and you've got all the FAQs it says spelled it out, this is exactly what you need.

Tarin LaRoux 00:08:37  If this is not for you, if and they're like, oh yes, I need it, shut up and take my money. And they're way more likely to convert. Even just finding you for the very first time on Pinterest because they're in that mindset of looking for solutions.

Kimberly Spencer 00:08:53  I think that solution mindset is also what makes podcast guesting so perfect is like marrying strategy, which is why I'm so glad we got to have you on, because three out of four people jump on a podcast. They listen to podcast to learn something new. They are in the highest ways that people find the right. Podcasts are through referral and word of mouth and through the, search. Just simply search and long tail searching. So when with Pinterest, when you say keywords, do you also mean like long tail? And if you're not familiar with long tail, that's more like drawn out sentences sort of question. that's how I bet that's in my best SEO explanation. You can probably explain it better, but Long Tail are like just short form keywords that work better.

Tarin LaRoux 00:09:41  Yeah. So it's a combination of both because. So the easiest thing to do to figure out if people are actually searching for. Your niche on Pinterest is to pull up the app. Type in a short keyword, like 1 or 2 keywords and then see what else pops up. So just like on Google where it gives you suggestions, Pinterest is going to do the same thing. And when you pull up the results, you're going to be able to see if it actually matches up with what you have to offer or if they somehow took it out of context and people are searching for that differently, and then you're going to be able to use what they're giving you to create those long tail keywords, which are usually more specific and more, directly talking to your ideal client. The short ones are usually really, really broad. And so there there's more searches going on for them, but they're often more competitive because it's so commonly used.

Kimberly Spencer 00:10:35  So with Pinterest, I know Pinterest also offers advertising, and we advertise for a coaching company with Pinterest for a long time.

Kimberly Spencer 00:10:42  I'd have to check with my ad admin if we're still doing that one. But the because we really pivoted in full when full bore into just podcast casting because we found that to be so highly lovable. But Pinterest. Do you recommend, like just starting out, pinning and just having a bunch of blog posts or like actually investing into advertising on Pinterest to be able to generate that passive income?

Tarin LaRoux 00:11:07  This is a really good question because I, I love promoted pins. And actually for my one on one clients, I now include a low cost built in ad budget. Because what happens is when you get on Pinterest and you're going for purely organic strategy, you're setting yourself up for this long term growth because it is a search engine where your content never, ever, ever dies. I have clients who see cyclical results on a yearly basis, and they're breaking it like 10,000 visits from one thing we did three years ago. and so when you're setting yourself up for that, it takes Pinterest some time to understand what your stuff is about.

Tarin LaRoux 00:11:45  And by the time I mean like up to six months, for them to index that content based on the keyword and then show it to people when they search for that keyword, and that can be so frustrating because you're not getting the engagement that we're so used to. On traditional social media. The notifications move at like a snail's pace, so running an organic strategy alongside these promoted pens has really been a game changer for my clients, because we're able to set these foundations up where we have the organic strategy running right alongside a couple of pins that are injecting instant traffic right back to your blogs, right back to your sales pages. And I don't know if you recall this, but the cost per click on Pinterest has been stupid low compared to other platforms. So it's like, yes, it's a great place to test it. And not only that, you're again able to like target people by the specific keywords. So you're still reaching those problem aware audience.

Kimberly Spencer 00:12:49  And I love that that you're focusing on the problem where audience, not just the what I find with Facebook ads is it's the issue.

Kimberly Spencer 00:12:58  Like they might be wanting your thing. They might not, they might just had some targeting. So Pinterest does have a lot more specificity as far as my experience now from the from a podcast guest perspective. So when they go on a podcast that they're on a podcast, yeah, they put it up on their blog. Do they drive organic traffic to that? Do they build a funnel around it? What are your best practices for that? Once the podcast is done at, it's out and it's distributed and they have it up on their blog, that is or it's a blog page or a landing page on their website. What's that next step that you recommend in regards to Pinterest?

Tarin LaRoux 00:13:37  So we typically create several different pin Pen designs the actual image itself for one piece of content, so that one single interview that you had can. You can use it infinitely. You can create five new pens for it every week. You can create a hundred pens for it in a whole month. That's that's a bit excessive.

Tarin LaRoux 00:13:58  For example. but you can create different images for one piece of content. And Pinterest loves that because they see that as fresh content. So you don't have to constantly be creating new blog posts or new information. You can reuse what you've already got, what's already working, and then use that to organically drive traffic back. One of the big things with creating hidden images for podcasts is to make sure that your audience is aware that they're going to end up on something they can listen to. Because again, most people expect to find a blog post. And so if you have something that says like listen now or episode number, Then when they get there, they're not like, oh, I didn't want to listen to this or whatever. It just bounce. And especially if you have like a blog style podcast, breakdown, then you'll be able to bring them in and after them no matter what their learning style is. So like my favorite is when my clients do a video and then they take that into a podcast, and then they have it in a blog post.

Tarin LaRoux 00:15:04  So you're getting everybody and then honestly utilizing that space to then say, like, if somebody doesn't listen to the end to get to your promo, you want to use your blog space or your website page with your interview to tell them to take that next step to say, hey, we talked about this in the show notes. Or, you know, we talked about this on the show. They use my show notes with all the links for you to jump on in and get what we talked about. So it's all pretty much organic on that side. running the promoted pens I would definitely say that you want to get people into. Directly to your landing pages and using the blog, for ones that also lead them into that next step, and not just for getting eyeballs on your stuff.

Kimberly Spencer 00:15:54  So you use it more for conversions rather than just for traffic.

Tarin LaRoux 00:15:57  Yes, because if you're getting traffic, that's great. But if it's not equally money in your pocket, then you're not doing something right. And there's lots of ways you can leverage traffic to not just with getting people into your funnels, but once that traffic really starts flowing and you're getting thousands of visits every month just from Pinterest and SEO.

Tarin LaRoux 00:16:18  You can actually start running ads and getting paid to have people just visit your website, which is.

Kimberly Spencer 00:16:25  So.

Tarin LaRoux 00:16:25  Simple.

Kimberly Spencer 00:16:27  Brilliant, brilliant. And then the beautiful thing is with Pinterest, it's beautiful. Like, I love going on Pinterest for like I designed my entire home with Pinterest, so it's a beautiful place to play on compared to like, other apps that just kind of like suck you in into the void of TikTok dances. Yeah.

Tarin LaRoux 00:16:52  Pinterest brags that they're like a place of inspiration. So like, you go there to build your best self, you're building a dream house, you're building your dream wedding, you're building your dream business. Which is how I kind of got really sucked into it back in 2016. Gosh, a long time ago. but yeah, people go there for all sorts of things, and they're usually there with a purpose. They're not just there to get sucked into the scroll, like you can get sucked into the scroll, but usually it starts out with a query.

Kimberly Spencer 00:17:24  Yes.

Kimberly Spencer 00:17:24  And that's like one of the reasons why I think pairing Pinterest and the Pinterest strategy, along with a podcast casting strategy is so magnificent because most people listen to a podcast with the intention of learning something. They're tuning in to be inspired and to learn something. So the fact that you're attracting and attacking two forms of marketing that have a similar intention versus all the other intentions that every other social media platform has, boredom, FOMO, you know you need something to do while you're on the toilet. It's just all of the all of the things that happened on other social media platforms, like there's not as much intentionality that goes into it. And I think you said the most powerful word with when it comes to Pinterest is intention, and people are going to build something specific. So it seems to me like for design based businesses, interior design, visual based businesses, that Pinterest is much more, Attractive. But what if you are for coaches? Like is it just the inspirational blogs, the mindset tips and tricks? whatever speciality that you coach in focusing on that? What coaching niches do you see really thriving on Pinterest?

Tarin LaRoux 00:18:51  So I actually love working with coaches for Pinterest because a lot of times they also have a podcast in place.

Tarin LaRoux 00:18:59  And podcasting is also like built for the long run. You don't make one season and be like, well, that didn't work. I'm not. I'm not doing it anymore. You're you're creating this long vision of your business. And, and Pinterest pairs really nicely with that vision, because it takes time for it to stack up exponentially and just compound on itself, really. And if if you're a coach and you want to get on Pinterest again, leading people directly back to your evergreen offers like your sales pages for courses, your lead magnets, webinars, etc. can definitely work, but leveraging the blogging aspect of it is really crucial because you're able to keep things moving. You're able to invite people into your world and show that you are the authority in your niche. So like, you don't want to just create content just for the sake of content. You actually want to create some really valuable content that might have you wondering if you gave too much away. but the thing is that so many people will read and consume and think they understand, but they don't often take action just from reading a blog post.

Tarin LaRoux 00:20:11  And so by giving them all of this information that shows that you are the one that they were looking for, is going to lead them into that next step of working with you.

Kimberly Spencer 00:20:22  So what is your response to this question that if you were to say something on this podcast interview where you almost felt like you were giving too much away. Regarding Pinterest and the strategy, what would that be? Okay.

Tarin LaRoux 00:20:40  when it comes to Pinterest, I think the actual pinning strategy is so much simpler than traditional social media where you're like, I got to create more content. I have to feed the hungry algorithm, where on Pinterest you're like, I have five blog posts and I'm going to create five images for those, and I'm going to put one of those out every day, and I'm going to have like a whole month worth of content ready to go. That's like your pinning strategy. one of the things that I typically keep under my belt is how to find keywords. And that's one of the biggest questions that I get to, because you have a lead magnet or an offer and you're like, but what are people searching for to get back to that? And so you really have to tap into your ideal clients head to figure out where they are in their journey and what they would be searching for on Pinterest or on Google or any other place where people might ask questions like even Reddit.

Tarin LaRoux 00:21:38  And I think from their perspective, what they're looking for so that you can get those keywords down and utilize them in all of your content on Pinterest. So you put it on your pins, you put it on your boards, and then you continue to use that keyword. So Pinterest understands that that's what this content is about.

Kimberly Spencer 00:22:01  So valuable. And this is why I highly recommend having some sort of form. Like if you have a form it go back to your applications of clients that have wanted to work with you and look at their language and see if there's some common threads with the language that they use and how they're framing their problem. Because that's going to give you an idea. Even if you have the if you know the solution is something different than how they frame their problem, they still are seeking for a solution to that specific problem. So even if they know that that problem wasn't actually the root cause, you have to be able to address that. And that's the thing is, same with on podcast interviews.

Kimberly Spencer 00:22:37  One of the things that we teach our clients is that by the time somebody comes and books a discovery, call with you for whatever is your service, they are so primed that they are not the one who's hopping on asking you all these other questions that aren't even in correlation to how it is that you serve somebody. They are very clear on what you do and what you do not do. And so there's that level of delineation of who are you for and who you're not for. And you will know that by the people who has already come into your world and what language they use in regards to that. And I think this is also great for podcasters because so many podcasters do not title properly with SEO. They don't. It's like, here's the name of the guest and especially the guest. Like if you look up Kimberly Spencer on Google, I dominate, but like that doesn't leverage into what? People don't know me enough to know that I can solve their problem for them. And so with Pinterest, as with podcasts and putting out your podcasts, this is why we recommend to our clients.

Kimberly Spencer 00:23:43  Like to picture. Like if you pitch yourself or like when we pitch you, we pitch like potential SEO optimized titles so that you can so that the podcaster can ideally use those to optimize the traffic back to your own website, because it's highlighting the keywords that you already have. So do you find that keywords for a client on Google, on Facebook, on on their podcasts, on Pinterest tend to be a little disjointed? Or are there some that work better for one platform than others? Like maybe someone frames high performance coach and then on another one, people's frame it as peak performance coach.

Tarin LaRoux 00:24:23  It does happen. And so that's why it is important to actually do your keyword research on Pinterest when you get started. Because again, like you might think that people are searching for it one way and they might be searching for it that way on Google. And so you could take that and plug it in to Pinterest and see what else pops up. There is some overlap, but there can definitely be total differences.

Tarin LaRoux 00:24:44  And like, you know, nobody's searching for it on Google, but thousands of people searching for it on Pinterest, which is just nifty as well and vice versa.

Kimberly Spencer 00:24:55  Amazing. Now, Karen, to flip gears, you started your business as as a mom fellow homeschool mom right here. So how has your business grown? Your own personal business grown through Pinterest?

Tarin LaRoux 00:25:12  So I completely created my business from the ground up. when I had my second son, I wasn't able to work from home like I had been before. So I looked into other opportunities. I found a lot along the way. One of the first things that I really got started in was website design, and I wasn't on social media at all at the time, and so I was doing a lot of research on Pinterest, and I learned how to set up my systems, how to set up my processes, how to create lead magnet, how to create funnels. And I learned all these things, and I happened to stumble across like, I think it might have even been an ad for becoming a Pinterest virtual assistant.

Tarin LaRoux 00:25:54  And I was like, oh, this is right up my alley. I can turn my Pinterest obsession into a profession. And so I got really, really into the idea of managing other people's Pinterest accounts, because I had started my website design business, and I was bringing in traffic to my own website and understanding the basics of how it works before I was ever even on social media. And so when I got back onto social media, things kind of pivoted, and I did eventually become a Pinterest strategist. And funny enough, my niche for the longest time was just Pinterest because that was unique enough at the time. Seven years ago, gosh. And now I have, pivoted and tried to actually help people bring in passive income from this platform because it is set up for the long game, creating offers that also serve you for the long haul hair so nicely, and it allows you to ring in clients who are looking for what you have to offer. And so I have been using it to grow my own email list.

Tarin LaRoux 00:27:03  And to be honest, I have put my clients first for a long time. And so a big part of that too, was because I had, brought my new business, which is Pinterest focused, onto Pinterest, and I was getting trickles of traffic from stuff I did years and years ago, which is a huge perk of this platform. And so it didn't, it wasn't so high up my priorities list. This year, however, things have changed and I am like, we're going to dominate Pinterest because it's been a while since I even looked up the keyword research and found the keyword data volume for people searching on Pinterest. and people are on Pinterest looking for Pinterest help in like droves, like 5 million searches every month. So I'm like, yep, yep, yep. We need to up the game here and and not get the trickles and have that really massive flow coming in. So I don't know if you've ever done that for yourself, but I've talked to people who put their own business on the backburner.

Kimberly Spencer 00:28:08  Yep, yep. Yeah. That has happened many, many, many a time. in fact, this past this past year, we I put my first business baby on the back burner and went all into our podcast guesting agency to grow and scale that. And then I'm like, oh, my coaching business. I think I missed you there. It's still there. It's still there. It's still bringing in revenue, but it's like, oh, investing a little. It's been it was nine years of of doing that. So I have nine years of systems like they're they're pretty good to go and solid. So that ability to to I love that you're practicing with it what you preach. And I love your transparency about that too because that is that's so powerful when you can just speak the honest truth because it happens so often with business owners. I see it all the time as a as a coach, like it just where you you're serving your clients at such a high level, then sometimes you need to practice your own stuff.

Tarin LaRoux 00:29:10  Yeah, it's about that embodiment, right. Because and I think that was what really brought it to light is somebody called me out on that and they're like, You don't use the Pinterest strategy in your business. I'm like, I mean, I did.

Kimberly Spencer 00:29:23  What it would and did Belton. But now circling back to it. Yeah. And I think that's that's a huge piece. I had the same thing with our podcast guesting strategy, the exact same thing. So from growing our podcast agency like it came from my own strategy of generating leads and revenue from podcast guesting. And when I look back this past year and I was like, I'm gonna bring as much revenue in 2023. And I looked at our podcast guesting board and I was like, cause I didn't follow my own fricking system. And then I had some of my clients that I was like, you need to follow the system. Trust me, when you follow the system, the system works. Same thing. I was like, oh my gosh, I haven't been following my own system.

Kimberly Spencer 00:30:06  That's why I haven't been generating as many leads from podcast guesting.

Tarin LaRoux 00:30:11  Well, but it's so good to analyze those things so that you know that it does work and that you just have to do more of it. And it can be that simple.

Kimberly Spencer 00:30:21  It can be that simple. Now, I know that you have leveraged podcast guesting because, you know, we're here and you typically use a lot of the Facebook groups. Have you seen that to be a value for you, the free Facebook club. Find a guest. Be a guest. Those groups. Have you noticed that as a valuable strategy for you?

Tarin LaRoux 00:30:42  it's a good question. I don't think I've booked any interviews from those in particular. They're often really swamped, and I often find to they're not very specific with who they want to have on their podcasts. They're either really, really broad or they don't say anything at all. And so I'm like, I don't know if that would be a good fit, because we're on the same page where the homeschoolers we talked to mom printers and people who like to podcast guest.

Tarin LaRoux 00:31:11  So I knew this was a the shoe fit.

Kimberly Spencer 00:31:14  Yeah, yeah. The shoe fit though. Two Texans just pulling together. But that's I mean and I see the same problem on the on the Facebook groups as well is that they're either really not specific or they're constantly posting on they're looking for guests because they have been taught by some someone. I don't know who it is in the podcasting industry, but I really want to find out, that that is the way that you generate clients. And suddenly after the podcast interview, then there's like, here, let me manipulate your story and put you in front and get you on a follow up call for, to work together. And that's, that's a strategy. That's I don't know who's teaching it, but I really want them to stop. Yes, you can get clients from your podcast, but don't be a pushy asshole about it. And I think that's the other beautiful thing is, like with Pinterest, the push like you, you initially said, like if you're on your blog and you're like in this push place, that those are not the things that are going to convert, but what converts is really organic, nurturing, deeply caring and serving.

Tarin LaRoux 00:32:16  And just being the one who has the answers because they're searching for the answers. You just have to show up and provide them.

Kimberly Spencer 00:32:24  What answers, like when you say they're searching for the answers. When you are advising your clients, how do you how do you extract the answers that they provide? Because sometimes people are able to say, I get this all the time in our agency. I don't know what I do, but like, clients just come to me and they can't like speak it into words as far as like the problem that they solve, but they actually have like the results of, you know, success from their clients, but they're they're lost in this fog. So how do you bring that ethereal like when you're so in your business and that you don't quite know how you're doing, what you're doing, but you're just it's doing it's working, so there's no need to question it. How do you extract like what are those specific problems that they're solving?

Tarin LaRoux 00:33:09  I typically start with the offers. So if you have a nice signature offer, sweet.

Tarin LaRoux 00:33:15  You've got a lead magnet, a low entry offer, a mid and a high and you're those should be serving your clients at different levels and not be providing the same exact result at different price points, but rather little micro transformations. And taking a look at that to figure out what that transformation is. And so like if some if you have a freebie that's like how to get on podcast interviews, how to book more interviews, then that's probably what somebody is actually searching for. They're like, how do I do podcast interviews? How to be a better podcast guest, how to start a podcast might even be something that they're looking for. And the the guest thing is just a complimenting Segway for that same sort of query.

Kimberly Spencer 00:34:03  So what I found is like with specific things like for example, with like a service based industry, not coaching, not something that's because, like with that personal training, like you can very specifically say like I teach Pilates or I get people booked on podcasts. I think we're actually the biggest problem is with authors, with speakers, with coaches in general, where they don't know how to describe that specific problem, especially because they've helped so many people get results in so many different areas, like, oh, I helped heal the relationship with my exspouse, and then I helped, you know, someone scale their business to 15 million a year, like, you know, all of those the, the when you had the plethora of results, how do you dial it back to what is that specific problem that they're solving initially?

Tarin LaRoux 00:34:49  That's where like the various entry points come into play too, because you don't have to boil it down to this is what I do.

Tarin LaRoux 00:34:55  You can have a blog post that talk about this solution or this problem that lead into a content upgrade, and then you can have another blog post or podcast interview that talks about a different area of your niece, your specific specificity. and you don't have to bottle yourself up. So that's, I think, the overview for today, because.

Kimberly Spencer 00:35:22  Getting.

Tarin LaRoux 00:35:22  Really nailing it down can sometimes take a coaching perspective to, to say, okay, what are the common threads? Because that's another thing that you want to look at with your ideal client is that there probably is a common thread in there somewhere, and talking to your people helps you really figure that out too.

Kimberly Spencer 00:35:43  So what? At what stage in your business beginning middle successfully, you know, make it generating income? Not quite six figures, six eight figures and scaling multiple seven figures. Multiple seven figures. At what point is Pinterest the best place to pin point a strategy?

Tarin LaRoux 00:36:04  I'd say it's between that middle of success. So it's it's not for you.

Tarin LaRoux 00:36:08  If you're a very beginner and you have a website, you don't know what your offer suite is like. But if you already have your beautiful website set up so that you can drive traffic to it, you have, a good understanding of your audience so that you can tap into those keywords that they would be searching for to find you, and you've got the offers set up, you've got evergreen offers in particular. So not ones that are like, oh, doors are opening, doors are closing. Oh, you can join my coaching program in three months from now. No, they want instant gratification from Pinterest. So you're going to make sure that you provide them with those solutions instantly. And even better, if you've already got people going through those funnels to see that they're converting, but they don't necessarily need to be when you're getting started on Pinterest, because Pinterest is such a huge traffic driver that you can analyze your results a lot easier on this platform versus having people like raise their hands and send DMs back and forth, you're able to just get people straight in the door, see how they're engaging, and see how your stuff is actually converting on a larger scale without paying for ads.

Kimberly Spencer 00:37:20  Love it. Taryn. This conversation has been jam packed with the best information on sharing Pinterest with podcasting and podcast guesting, and I have just thoroughly enjoyed the firehose of information that you have brought today. It really is so specific and so helpful, and I would love to know from you. What did you love about our conversation?

Tarin LaRoux 00:37:43  I like that you asked me the tough questions. You asked me to give too much back to you. And so I said, yeah, okay, let's do that.

Kimberly Spencer 00:37:53  I love that, yeah. And you did. And I think that's the power of podcasting. And Pinterest is it's that give, give, give and get me. And that is a strategy that especially for a new entrepreneur when they're first starting out, if there are mindsets of scarcity, it is a big mindset shift and help to move through. But when you do and you realize that it's generosity that moves people forward. Like if you think of any relationship, you don't want to be in a relationship with a taker.

Kimberly Spencer 00:38:23  So whether it's Pinterest or podcasting or whatever, like be that person who is so generously surveying and giving, delivering value, solving people's problems that people naturally see you as the solution to solving their problems.

Tarin LaRoux 00:38:40  And like the only solution to because like I said, it generates that fangirl effect because they're like, she knows her shit, that you've got this beautiful website that says, oh, she's the one. Oh.

Kimberly Spencer 00:38:52  Yes, yes. And with that, where can we find you? How can we work with a Pinterest strategist such as yourself?

Tarin LaRoux 00:38:59  Darling, you can find me online at Swish Social Co. You can also find me on Facebook. I have a free Facebook group called the Passive Income Project and when you join in there, there is some freebies, including my free Pinterest setup guide.

Kimberly Spencer 00:39:17  I love it, definitely hop in, get in on the Pinterest setup guide. Start leveraging this as a strategy in correlation with your podcast or the podcast that you're getting booked on, so that your voice gets out there to more people, to more new audiences.

Kimberly Spencer 00:39:31  And what I love is that this is kind of like the second tier, with podcast guests saying, you borrow somebody's audience initially to get on there when you're on their podcast, and then you borrow a bigger audience, aka Pinterest audience, by leveraging that one piece of content that you already created on somebody else's podcast. So it's just an expansion and a greater ripple. Go find her and work with her, and then remember to stand out and be heard.

Tarin LaRoux 00:40:00  You asked me what the most valuable part my takeaway from our conversation, and I actually think it is repurposing podcast interviews because I don't do that. I might call out, say, hey, look, I was on this podcast, but I don't repurpose it currently. And that's that's definitely going to change after today's conversation.

Kimberly Spencer 00:40:19  Yes, yes, it's an easy one to repurpose because it's already done for you. I mean, us as an agency, we do the repurposing to a degree. We create reels, we create audio games and things that can be repurposed.

Kimberly Spencer 00:40:32  But we actually here's where we've been lacking. We haven't created pin images and now we are. So that's all thanks to you, Tara. Yeah.

Tarin LaRoux 00:40:40  You've been good. Good I love.

Kimberly Spencer 00:40:41  It. Okay. It's the reciprocity that happens. And that's the magic that happens. Like y'all, you're hearing this in a podcast interview with the reciprocity of the back and forth already happening of the the ideas that can come just from the power of a conversation. And that's why when you're like, oh my gosh, I really love what you do. And I really I learned this from you, that that's where this the relationship starts getting built anyways to for further partnerships, further business, further expansion, furthering the ripple. I think that's that's perfect. I'm so glad that you're going to repurpose or repurposing the podcast interviews because yeah, they definitely can be massively leveraged.

Tarin LaRoux 00:41:18  Yeah, I've been leaving that on the table. So.

Kimberly Spencer 00:41:21  Perfect, perfect. Okay, so one of the things that I've seen with Instagram is like, people don't want to repost a quote or repost or share something unless it obviously makes them look good, like they want to look good to their audience as well.

Kimberly Spencer 00:41:32  Do you see the same thing happening with Pinterest where they'll repost, reshare, repin things that make them look good? Or do they, like hide them in the secret board category of like, these are my closeted problems that I'm trying to solve.

Tarin LaRoux 00:41:45  So this is a common question I get, actually, because it seems counterproductive to save somebody else's content that leads to somebody else's website. But as long as it is on brand. If it's in your niche, it's keyword specific. It absolutely is beneficial to save other people's stuff, because then Pinterest is going to show that pin from somebody else's website. But from your profile, when somebody searches for that keyword, because it's already like ranking for that keyword, and then when they save, it is basically telling Pinterest, hey, that person has stuff people want to see. So saving it to a secret board might work for things that are personal, but if it is on brand, I highly recommend including other people's stuff in your strategy.

Kimberly Spencer 00:42:39  Amazing.

Tarin LaRoux 00:42:40  Just a little bit.

Tarin LaRoux 00:42:41  1 or 2 a day is fine.

Kimberly Spencer 00:42:43  Yeah, I definitely with that. With my coaching money, I saw that we had we saved several posts and those were getting those were getting so much traction and so much in so many views. Back to our coaching profile for yourself. It was it was we were at a point where we were getting like 500,000 views a month, like it was bananas.

Tarin LaRoux 00:43:03  Yeah, Pinterest has come out and said you can save 100% of your own content, but in reality, if you're trying to get further faster, there's no reason to not share other people's stuff.

Kimberly Spencer 00:43:14  I completely agree, I think it's just abundance. It gets paid back, right? It's karma right there. It's just good karma.
